Update to Dominick Calhoun: Mother Left and Returned during Beating

Corrine Baker, Dominick's Mother

A Michigan news web site is reporting today that Corrine Baker, the mother of four-year-old Dominick Calhoun, who was beaten and tortured to death last week, left the apartment on Friday to keep a doctor’s appointment.

Baker’s parents picked her up to go to the doctor and then returned her home again to her apartment.

Friday was the second day of a four day torture spree during which Baker’s live-in boyfriend, Brandon Hayes, allegedly beat and tortured Dominick to death.

Brandon Hayes

According to a petition filed by the Department of Human Services, at no time during her brief trip away from her home, the site of an ongoing murder, did Baker attempt to notify anyone about the horrific events that were occurring in her home while she was at the doctor.

She told no one about it–not the police, not her doctor and not even her parents who chauffeured her to the doctor.

Although it is difficult to imagine why Baker would tell no one about the beating and torture that was happening in her apartment at the same time while she was at the doctor, apparently that is what happened.

Baker “did not report that anything was wrong between herself, children or (Hayes),” the petition said.

Baker, herself, was also allegedly beaten by the 24-year-old Hayes during the four day torture spree, including when Hayes allegedly pulled out clumps of her hair.

Lil' Dominick

Court documents also stated that Dominick suffered burns to his genitals, although he was not sexually assaulted.  “Thank God, really,” said Argentine Township police Chief Dan Allen. “He went through enough.”

Thus far, the 25-year-old Baker has not been charged by authorities with any crimes related to the four day beatings, but authorities have not ruled that out.

Dominick’s older half-brother, Tyler, was not injured during the beatings, but he has been placed in protective care. The state of Michigan has filed the necessary paperwork to terminate Baker’s parental rights to Tyler.

The court has ordered Baker not to contact her son, Tyler, or to attend Dominick’s funeral.

A memorial page to Dominick has been set up on Facebook.

Memorial to Dominick Calhoun, 4-year-old Tortured to Death

Four-year-old Dominick Calhoun left this world on Monday, April 12, 2010, after suffering four days of God awful torture, allegedly at the hands of his mother’s boyfriend, Brandon Hayes.

Dominick lived in an apartment with his mom, Corrine Baker, his brother, Tyler, and Corrine’s boyfriend, Brandon Hayes, South of Flint, Michigan.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

According to Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell, Dominick wet his pants while sitting on the sofa on Thursday, April 8th, angering Hayes, who allegedly began savagely beating poor young Dominick.

Said Sheriff Pickell, supposedly “he was trying to give a sense of discipline to little Dominick.”

Pickell said that Hayes then turned his anger toward Corrine, Dominick’s mother, striking her in the face and pulling out chunks of her hair. As he allegedly beat Corrine, Hayes complained about who was going to pay for the sofa.

The beating resumed on Friday when Hayes allegedly kicked four-year-old Dominick in the head and in the genitals, again…and again. Many times during the beating Corrine tried to protect her son by covering him with her body, but that simply turned Hayes’ rage toward her instead.

According to the police investigation Hayes screamed at Corrine that he was tired of raising the boy and Dominick deserved to die, calling Dominick “just a little crack head.” Pickell said that “she (Corrine) did crack while carrying (Dominick).” Hayes also complained that they were not receiving any money from Dominick’s father to help care for him.

On Saturday Dominick lay in bed in a listless state until Hayes dragged the little boy from his bed by his arm. Hayes then allegedly once again started beating Dominick. “He hit and kicked him again and again,” Pickell said, even though the boy was in an unconscious condition.

On Sunday, April 11, when Christine Baker, Corrine’s younger sister, dropped by to buy drugs, she realized what Hayes was doing to Corrine and Dominick. Christine informed Richard Calhoun, Dominick’s paternal grandfather, who brought in the police.

When Dominick arrived at the hospital, he was pronounced brain dead and was placed on life support.  On Monday, April 12, he was removed from life support and Dominick passed away.

Doctors said that Dominick had repeatedly been kicked in the genitals and head over and over again. They told Sheriff Pickell that Hayes had poked at the boy’s eyes with his thumbs and fingers. Doctors had to remove a portion of Dominick’s skull because his brain was swollen so badly.

“This case goes beyond torture,” said Pickell. For the police officers involved in the investigation Pickell said this has been gut wrenching.

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said, “This was simply a vicious killing, bad as anything you could imagine. The pictures are indescribable.”

“I think everyone with the law enforcement community and the prosecutor’s office has been shaken by what we’ve seen over the last several days. It’s our job to see that justice is rained down upon the perpetrators of these crimes. We have probable cause for each charge.”

Leyton said this type of torture charge is not common, “It’s rare. This cried out for the torture charge.”

Hayes has been arraigned on nine counts, including torture, three counts of felony murder, child abuse, assault, and lesser drug charges.

Following her release from the hospital, Corrine Baker was arrested and released pending further investigation. Dominick’s older brother Tyler was placed in protective custody.

A memorial page to Dominick has been set up on Facebook.

Video Interview with Victoria Lindsay – Gang Beating Victim

Victoria Lindsay, the Lakeland, Florida, high school student and cheerleader who was allegedly ambushed and gang beaten by her fellow cheerleaders and classmates last March 30th, recently gave her first video interview since the beating.

ABC’s Good Morning America interviewed Lindsay at length, and we have embedded the interview for you here. The alleged teen age perpetrators video taped the beating, which lasted for a half hour, so they could post the film on YouTube and MySpace.

Lindsay was allegedly beaten in two sequences by her so-called friends, and the Polk County, Florida, Sheriff’s department released the film of the beating in two parts. The first film that was released by the Sheriff actually contains the latter part of the beating but has the highest quality of the two films, which may be why the Sheriff released that film first.

After Lindsay was ambushed, she was beaten until she received a concussion and lost consciousness. That early part of the beating is the second film released by the Sheriff.

News reports after the beating stated that Lindsay had suffered vision and hearing loss; however, she discloses in the interview that the hearing problem has healed, but she still suffers from vision impairment, which may be corrected with glasses.

Lindsay’s alleged attackers have been charged with assault and a more serious charge of kidnapping. The trial of her alleged attackers has not yet been held.

Following is the video interview with Victoria Lindsay:

The callous attitude of Lindsay’s alleged attackers shocked the world when news of the beating first hit the media. Cara Murphy was initially charged along with the other defendants in the case, but charges against her were later dropped, at which time she sort of apologized in an interview by saying, “I guess I’m sorry for all that happened. I’m glad the charges got dropped though.”

Oh yes! That certainly sounds remorseful.

3 Victoria Lindsay Defendants Get Off Scot Free – Charges Dropped Against Gang Beating Defendants – Video

In a dramatic turn of events in the notorious Victoria Lindsay teen gang beating case, three of the eight teen age defendants in the case had all charges against them dropped and the prosecutor has no additional plans to charge them further.

Victoria Lindsay is a 16-year-old Lakeland, Florida, cheerleader that was ambushed by a gang of her classmates and severely beaten until she lost consciousness. Once she regained consciousness, she was beaten again.

Lindsay suffered a concussion, eye and ear damage along with bruises and lacerations and recurring nightmares about the beating. The startling part about the entire incident was that the defendants had filmed the beating so they could post it on YouTube and MySpace.

Polk County prosecutors dropped charges against the three defendants because of insufficient evidence against them. The three were Cara Murphy, 16, Zachary Ashley, 17, and Stephen Schumaker, 18.

When the eight defendants were initially arrested, the Polk County Sheriff’s office had stated that Ashley and Schumaker had stood guard outside the site of the attack, which was the home of Mary Nichols, the grandmother of defendant Mercades Nichols, who lived with her grandmother. Lindsay was living with Nichols and her grandmother at the time of the attack.

The Sheriff’s office had also initially stated that Murphy, the single female defendant whose charges were dropped, was the teen filming the beating. A female voice can be heard on the video from behind the scenes saying, “Ooh, yeah, baby. Ooh, yeah!” The Sheriff’s office had stated that voice was none other than defendant Cara Murphy. Watch the original video released by the Sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff had also stated early on that it was Murphy’s voice on the video letting the other girls know that the video was running out of film. “Seventeen seconds left,” the voice said while the beating continued. “Make it good.” Watch the second video released by the Sheriff’s office.

Neither the Sheriff’s office nor the prosecutor gave any indication why charges against the three were dropped other than lack of evidence. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd had even said early on in the case that one of the boys stuck his head in from outside and told the girls to quiet down because neighbors were able to hear the fight.

Why the evidence against Murphy and the two male defendants had evaporated remains a mystery, although Murphy’s attorney has said that she has agreed to testify against the other defendants.

Usually prosecuting attorneys strike deals with a single defendant to testify against other defendants in exchange for a lesser charge or perhaps charges being dropped altogether.

It is unknown whether any deal was struck in this case although it certainly seems like one was.

Said Cara Murphy after the charges against her were dropped, “I guess I’m sorry for all that happened. I’m glad the charges got dropped though.”

Murphy said that she never realized that the incident would turn into a national controversy. After she apologized to Victoria Lindsay, the victim, on the air but not in person, Murphy admitted she could have done more to stop the beating.

“During the time I definitely can say I felt scared for her. Once I saw the video, I realized this was a bad thing that happened.”

Her attorney, Melodie Lopez, said, “My client and I are happy this is over. She should not have been charged. We feel vindicated that the charges have been dropped. I think it’s wrong that all the kids there were charged as a group. Their involvement was not the same.”

Let’s see…Victoria suffers a concussion, permanent vision and hearing loss plus numerous bumps, scrapes and bruises, and Cara realized “this was a bad thing that happened?”

And what about remorse…was there any on Cara’s part?

“I guess I’m sorry for all that happened,” said Cara.

Oh yeah. That sounds like remorse alright. She guesses she’s sorry. What she really meant to say was “My attorney made me say I’m sorry.” What she’s really sorry about is getting caught in the first place.

But she’s “glad the charges got dropped though.”

I’ll bet she is! Cara goes from facing 15 years to life in prison one day to getting off scot free the next. Who wouldn’t be glad?

Does it sound to you like she has learned anything from this ordeal? I’ll bet next time she will cover her tracks better.

She must really like prison orange because she’s not just wearing it in the slammer. She’s even wearing it on the outside.

Victoria Lindsay Poll – 23% Favor Death Penalty for Teen Defendants

In a totally unscientific poll taken over the Internet, 23% of the respondents favored the death penalty for the defendants that allegedly beat up Victoria Lindsay for the now infamous reason of filming the beating to post it on MySpace and YouTube.

Another 22.5% of respondents favored a sentence from 15 years to life in prison, which means that 45.5% of the respondents felt that the offense was serious enough to warrant serious prison time and even death.

Victoria Lindsay is the 16-year-old cheerleader from Mulberry High School in Lakeland, Florida, who was lured to her then residence and allegedly beaten by six classmates and cheerleaders until she was unconscious. Then, once she regained consciousness, she was beaten some more.

Victoria suffered a concussion, vision and hearing loss, a chipped tooth and numerous abrasions from the incident.

The Polk County Sheriff’s office released two videos of the beating. The first video was released not long after the beating incident, which occurred March 31, 2008. The second video was released about May 22nd.

20% of the poll’s respondents favored a prison sentence of 5-15 years, while 23% favored 1-5 years behind bars.

9% thought that six months in jail was justified, and 3% favored probation.

Here are the exact results of the poll along with the wording used:

Philadelphia Police Beating – Video – Defense Claims Mistaken Identity

We have the video of the Philadelphia police beating three shooting suspects after an auto chase. At least 15 officers were allegedly involved in the beating, and 13 have been removed from duty pending a police investigation of the incident.

Attorneys representing the three defendants claim that the police officers that were involved in the beating concocted a story that the defendants were shooting suspects so they could cover up a police error that the police mistook one of the defendants for another man sought in a cop killing from the previous weekend.

The first video is strictly a video of the beating with no audio to speak of:

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Mayor Michael Nutter denied the cover-up allegations and said that officers legitimately pursued the defendants’ car after a triple shooting.

The lawyers claim that their clients, Brian Hall, 23, Dwayne “Lionel” Dyches, 24, and Pete Hopkins, 19, were not involved in any shooting. Instead, they said that police chased their vehicle and beat the trio because they believed that Dyches, who was a passenger in the car, was a man wanted in the fatal shooting of Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski.

Liczbinski was a 12-year member of the force who was shot in the line of duty last week while pursuing three robbery suspects and who was buried today.

If the lawyers’ claim proves to be true, the police officers involved in the beating incident could be facing some very severe charges.

The second video is some of the beating plus a reporter’s version of the incident:

Philadelphia Police Beating

The beating, which was filmed by a Fox News TV affiliate helicopter, came after several police cars surrounded and blocked the escape of Hall, Dyches and Hopkins’ vehicle.

Three groups of officers then allegedly dragged the trio from their car and proceeded to punch, kick, and stomp the defendants and also beat one of the defendants with a night stick.

Rev. Al Sharpton suggested the beating was racially motivated and called it “worse than Rodney King,” referring to a similar beating of a single black man by Los Angeles police officers in 1991. The acquittal of the police officers involved in that beating motivated rioters in the LA riots of 1992.

Middle School Copycat of Victoria Lindsay Beating – Video

This video has copy cat written all over it. In a video-taped beating, a group of 12 to 14-year-old middle school girls in Clarksville, Indiana, lured a 12-year-old girl to a warehouse parking lot, beat her up and filmed the beating. Then they placed the video of the beating on Photobucket.com, which is a video sharing site somewhat similar to YouTube and MySpace.

Photobucket quickly took the video down, but we were able to obtain a portion of the video, which is shown below. Police Chief Dwight Ingle said in the second video, which is a CBS report on the incident, that student who filmed the beating was initially hailed in school as a hero.

However, as more details of the beating emerged the students rapidly changed their attitude.

Police believe that the beating is a copycat of a similar incident that occurred in Lakeland, Florida, to 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay by six of her Mulberry High classmates. However, in this beating, the attacker used rocks as a weapon repeatedly hitting the 12-year-old in the head with the rocks.

Evidently the Clarksville Middle School girls wanted their 15 minutes of fame, or infamy, too. The 12-year-old victim is the daughter of a police officer and was treated for cuts and bruises at an area hospital.

The attack occurred on April 12th in a warehouse parking lot in Clarksville, which is just north of the Ohio River, is on the Indiana-Kentucky border and is more or less a northern suburb of Louisville, KY.

Police said that the incident began with one girl initiating an argument with the victim and then the altercation escalated into a fight, in which the 12-year-old victim was hit in the face and head repeatedly while the other girls watch, jeered and laughed.

Authorities are not releasing the names of the victim or the perpetrators because they are all minors. Fortunately, the victim in this incident was not injured as severely as Victoria Lindsay was.

The reports are not clear which girl in the video is the victim, but it believed that the perpetrator is the girl in the light pink colored jacket. The victim in this case fought back rather than let the attackers have their way with her.

CBS report and video on beating (sorry about the ad, but I could not get rid of it):

It is also believed that the attackers are a bit older than the victim.

Police Chief Dwight Ingle said that the attackers used rocks as weapons. “You can actually hear the rocks thumping on the skull of the victim,” he said.

Victoria Lindsay’s 911 Call – Teen Gang Beating Victim

Victoria Lindsay is the 16-year-old cheerleader from Lakeland, Florida, who was gang beaten by six other teen age girls from her school so they could post a video of the beating on YouTube and MySpace. Lindsay’s 911 call to the police after the attack was released by the Polk County Sheriff and is included below.

Here are the mug shots of the alleged perpetrators:

Police have said that the “animalistic” ambush on Victoria lasted 30 minutes during which Victoria’s head was brutally beaten into a wall until she fell unconscious. See the actual video of the beating.

Victoria told People magazine in her first interview after the beating that she was in “a lot of pain” after the attack.

Victoria is also quoted as telling People, “Your No. 1 friend is your family. Don’t trust anybody,” and if “you put it on the Internet, it will live in infamy.”

Obviously Victoria feels betrayed by girls that she thought were her friends including Mercades Nichols, whom she was living with until the day of the attack. Mercades was allegedly one of the attackers.

At her tender age, Mercades already has a violent legal record. Last fall her boyfriend at the time filed a dating violence injunction against her.

Alleged Drug Dealer Forces Baby to Smoke Marijuana – Video

Melvin Blevins, a Pataskala, Ohio, alleged drug dealer is caught on video forcing his 18 month old baby niece to smoke marijuana while he baby sits the infant.

A woman in the original video but not in this section of it is 16-year-old Angel Daily and girlfriend to the 18-year-old Blevins. After he filmed the video Blevins sold the camera to a Columbus, Ohio, pawn shop with the video still on the hard drive.

The pawn shop manager discovered the video on the camera and called police. Both Blevins and his female accomplice were arrested for child endangerment and corrupting another with drugs. They have pleaded innocent.

Blevins had also been indicted separately on a drug bust that included $3.2 million dollars in cash and 2100 pounds of marijuana. The pot was discovered in a trailer parked outside the home of Angel Dailey’s father, Donald Dailey.

Some Blogger and YouTube videos have been slow to start lately even on a high speed connection. Sometimes you must click the start button twice. Please be patient; the video will begin eventually.

The drug bust is reportedly the largest in Ohio history with the pot having been compressed into bricks. The cash was found hidden in the walls and under the floorboards of the homes of Donald Dailey and his brother, Tim Dailey.

Six Teen Girls Gang Beat 16-year-old for YouTube Video

Here is the much sought after video of six Florida teen age girls gang beating another 16-year-old girl and video taping the incident just so they could post the video of the beating on YouTube and MySpace.

The victim is Victoria Lindsay, a Lakeland, Florida, high school student and cheerleader, who suffered a concussion during the beating, along with hearing and vision loss. Lakeland is near the Tampa metropolitan area.

The six alleged perpetrators are from age 14 to 17 and all attend Mulberry High School together. The six, along with two 18-year-old boys who stood as lookouts during the attack, will be tried as adults.

All are being charged with felony battery and felony false imprisonment. Brittni Hardcastle, Brittany Mayes and Mercades Nichols, all 17, also are charged with felony kidnapping and felony witness tampering because the three girls allegedly drove Lindsay around after the attack and threatened to beat her even more if she reported the beating to the police.

Eventually, they dropped her off at an intersection near another teen’s home.

Prior to the video shown here, the six girls allegedly beat Lindsay to the point that she lost consciousness. Once she awoke, the alleged attackers began the video taping and continued the beating.

Patrick Lindsay, Victoria Lindsay’s father, said during a news conference, “When I saw my daughter in the emergency room, I didn’t even recognize my own daughter.”

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said, “They lured her into the home for the express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet. This is outrageous behavior.”

It is being reported by the media that the motivation for the attack was retaliation for things Lindsay posted about the other girls on her MySpace page. However, the page had virtually nothing posted on it on 4/13/2008.

The attack and the video taping of the attack is taking cyber bullying to a new level.

The battery and false imprisonment charges could result in a 10 year sentence, while the kidnapping charge could add another 15 years in prison.

More Videos of Abuse by US Soldiers in Iraq

The David Mortari video showing a US Marine in Iraq callously throwing a puppy off of a cliff to its death has shone a bright light on the poor state of US public relations in the war zone of Iraq.

Below is a video of three separate incidents involving US soldiers in Iraq and their interactions with Iraqi civilians. In each incident, the way the US soldiers handled the situation was far from diplomatic.

Some Blogger and Youtube videos have been slow to start lately even on a high speed connection. Sometimes you muct click the start button twice. Please be patient; the video will begin eventually.

In the first incident in which a soldier shoots an Iraqi dog, the shooting was probably unnecessary, but an occupying army can do pretty much whatever it wants. Who is going to tell it otherwise? Certainly not the civilian who was the victim in the incident.

Perhaps soldiers have standing orders to shoot dogs because the fear is that the dog may be booby trapped with some type of bomb. That is a very strong possibility.

The IED (improvised explosive device) is the most feared weapon by US personnel in Iraq because Al Qaida has used it extensively with considerable creativity.

In the second incident in which the car is crushed, the US patrol of vehicles does not stop. This again is probably the result of fear of a suicide bomber.

But what if the tank had crushed the occupants of the car? Would it stop then?

Did you notice that the traffic seemed to automatically yield for the American vehicles? Give the Americans the right of way is probably the rule of law in Iraq.

In the third incident the US motivation is conclusive. At first it appears that the soldiers killed a few sheep for the fun of it (if you can call that fun). However, a military man informs us that the soldiers tossed a flash-bang rather than a real grenade. A flash-bang is a non-lethal explosive device designed to momentarily shock those around it.

Assuming that the soldiers tossed a flash-bang and not a real grenade, the incident is really more of a prank than anything else. However, the Iraqi sheperd will likely remember the incident with strong negative feelings. Wouldn’t you?

In every incident the Iraqis accepted the results without complaint, and that is probably because they feared that a complaint might elicit a more severe reprisal.

How do you think each incident will be remembered by the civilians involved? I know how I would feel. They will most likely hate the Americans, if they don’t already.

Soldiers like David Mortari are eliminating what little respect Americans have left in that part of the world, and they are replacing it with hatred.

Thatta boy, Mortari.

US Marine Throws Puppy Off Cliff – Video

David Mortari, a US Marine from Monroe, Washington, was a nobody until Tuesday, March 4th, 2008, but he is finally getting his 15 minutes of fame, which is really infamy in this case.

The marine in question is shown, in a video that was posted on Youtube.com, allegedly tossing a cute little puppy off of a cliff to its death. That’s right, this US soldier tosses a dog, only weeks old, off of a cliff to its death onto the rocks below.

The puppy could be heard yelping as it flew through the air until it crashed onto the rocks below and bounced, then hitting even more rocks.

Youtube quickly removed the video from its site as soon as the disturbing nature of the video was learned. However, thousands of Youtube surfers viewed the video before it was removed.

Since then, other Youtube members have reposted the video, and Youtube has apparently decided that a video of a US soldier tossing a dog off of a cliff to its death is okay remaining on its site.

Editor’s note 6/19/2015: Since the original posting I have had to repost the uncut vid on many different video hosting sites, but none of them will keep the uncut version online. Because of that I have decided to post the censored version because a censored version is better than no version at all.

The original real question was whether the video was real or whether it was a hoax. The puppy is shown being held by the marine by the scruff of its neck and does not appear to move, which could mean that the puppy may have already been dead before it was thrown off the cliff.

But the puppy may also have been alive before being cruelly tossed to its death. Since the incident occurred, the United State Marine Corps. has determined that the video is, in fact, legitimate.

A US Marine Corps spokesman stated that an investigation has been initiated into the incident and hinted that the marine in question will be punished.

The incident was believed to have been filmed while the marine was stationed in Iraq, but he is now stationed in Hawaii. Although his name is not being released by the Marine Corps., many bloggers have identified him as Mortari.

The first video is the disturbing video in question. Do not watch it if you are at all squeamish.

The second video was CNN’s report of the incident and showed only portions of the video with the more disturbing sections deleted. However, CNN also chickened out in showing even a limited version of the video, so there is now no 2nd video.

Police Deputy Caught Abusing Quadriplegic

Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones became a reluctant celebrity this past week because she was allegedly caught in the act of being herself while deliberately tossing a handicapped quadriplegic man from his wheel chair onto the floor of the Orient Road jail in Hillsborough County, Florida, which includes the Tampa Bay area in its jurisdiction.

The incident occurred on January 29, 2008, after the victim and also alleged traffic offender, one Brian Sterner, 32, was arrested for a traffic violation. Sterner became a partial quadriplegic when he broke his neck in 1994 in a wrestling accident.

Blogger and YouTube videos have been slow to start lately even on a high speed connection. Sometimes you must click the start button twice. Please be patient; the video will start eventually.

He does have sufficient use of his arms to enable him to drive a car legally, although it seems that at least one Hillsborough County Deputy felt that Sterner’s driving was not performed legally last January 29th, the day he was arrested.

The only reason that Deputy Marshall-Jones was caught misbehaving was because of the closed circuit TV cameras in the jail. If the cameras had not been present in the jail, Deputy Marshall-Jones would have gotten off scot free.

When reporters questioned the Hillsborough Sheriff’s office initially, the office spokesperson denied any impropriety had been performed by any of Hillsborough’s finest.

When confronted with the act on video tape, the Sheriff’s office soon changed its tune however. A warrant was issued for Ms. Marshall-Jones’ arrest, and she has been charged with Abuse of a Disabled Person, which is a 3rd degree felony in Hillsborough County.

Marshall-Jones has been suspended from duties without pay, and three of her supervisors, two corporals and a sergeant are on administrative leave with pay.

The video of the incident has been seen around the world, but many in other countries have dismissed it as part of America’s inevitable fall from grace.

Sheriff David Gee has issued a press release that this was the act of one deputy, but that does not wash. Other deputies were in the vicinity of the incident and none of them even blinked an eye. That tells me that this is not the first time something like this has happened in Hillsborough County.

The victim, David Sterner, spent five days in jail before posting a $2,000 bail.

Deputy Marshall-Jones spent only 90 minutes in jail before she posted a $3,500 bond.

And what was Mr. Sterner’s crime against the community of Hillsborough County that warranted his incarceration in the first place? He was reportedly seen driving 5 mph in a 30 mph zone, while waving his arms around inside his car.

Hillsborough County has a spokesperson, Debbie Carter, that handles complaints or compliments from the public. Her email address is dcarter@hcso.tampa.fl.us. Ordinarily I would not release an email address, but I believe that sending the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office a note about how you feel about this incident might be warranted.

Here are the latest rumors on Britney Spears:

The Times of India, TMZ.com and eontarionow.com are all reporting that Britney Spears is under investigation for possible child abuse by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. The allegations are poor dental hygiene and poor eating and sleeping habits.

The Times reported that “Spear’s lawyer Dennis Wasser appeared at an unscheduled hearing on Tuesday morning in LA County Superior Court’s dependency section, which handles child abuse claims.”

TMZ.com also reported that Britney is earning over $737,000 per month, as reported in her child custody case with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

SFGate.com, along with other outlets reported that Britney ran out of gas in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, and the local police pushed her car to the gas station.

Britney was also recently pulled over by the local gendarme for speeding, but was let off with a warning.

And our Brit was caught once again by the paparazzi sans undies as shown here.

It seems that the stories are coming in so fast on Miss Brit that one can barely keep up with them. The no panties photo once again will do little to help her image during her custody battle with Kevin.

What self-respecting judge is not going to listen when the mother of two is photographed topless and bottomless so frequently. One would think that Britney is trying to lose custody of her children on the basis of her recent behavior.

Naturally, most proper mothers shave their heads, spend time in rehab, get filmed crashing their cars into Mercedes, and expose their private regions to the paparazzi on a regular basis.

Of course, the paparazzi are now going to follow Britney even more because she is their meal ticket. Get a photo of Britney involved in one of her public gaffes and you do not have to work for several months.

Britney’s behavior is so bizarre that one would think she wants to be caught behaving foolishly.

Perhaps she does.
